A friend sent me a text the other day asking the name of a kids podcast I had posted on Instagram. I wasn't sure which she was referring to but I picked up the phone,and gave her a ring. After we gabbed for a bit (about the days back at the preschool) I gave her a run down of some of our faves. We have about a 25 minute drive to and from school and I'm pretty tapped out on Kidz Bop Radio (for the most part) so our podcast rotation keeps us cool and informed and (sometimes laughing our pattooties off) during our carpool ride. We also have them loaded up on the kids (our old) tablets for sick days, snow days, or when we need some quiet (screen-free) time around the house. In no particular order:
Exploring answers to questions like "Is it ever okay to tell a lie?" and "What makes a real friend?" Pickle explore's some of life’s stickiest scenarios, with the help of curious kids. Its philosophical and social themes are fun and even includes pauses to ponder and discuss which make it not only a great listen but has also produced some great family conversation. Avery's Fave.
This podcast is HILARIOUS. An original comedy series about a dog (Jones) and a slick cat (Waffles) with dueling podcasts. HA!! With super fun and catchy original music, daily drama ensues with this cast of household pets (with voices from household names), including Benny the gerbil (Eugene Mirman) and goldfish, Mr. Glub (Alec Baldwin).
In each episode, quirky and zany co-hosts Mindy and Guy guide kids and their grown-ups through a combination of careful scientific research and fun with a deep dive into the coolest new stories in science and technology.
Produced by American Public Media and supported in part by the National Science Foundation, Brains On will make you want to turn your brains on as you listen to a different kid co host (each episode) talk to a food scientist or a snake handler (just to name a few) and explore some very interesting stuff!
We really love and look forward to new episodes of this storytelling podcast for kids ages 3 to 10. Each episode tells a folktale that originates from around the world. The stories are adapted for today's families and delve into topics such as kindness, persistence and inclusion, and generosity. Andie's Fave.
